Sharks v Ducks

San Jose Sharks
Win 3-2

Injury Report:
Rob Blake is still skating with the team
Brad Staubitz went to the specialist, but no word on a date for when he might return
Devan Setgochi still out with a nagging lower body injury
Jody Shelley general soreness, but expected to return later this week

Up & Down Game:
Only one change they brought Ryan Vesce back up for the ill Logan Couture

Game Notes:
Yes I know they won but you cant sit their and tell me that they played like they should of. The game was sloppy at best, they spent way to much to much time in their own end. After the first fight with McLaren the game seemed to calm down a bit, then before I knew it went back to the poor play in which it started. The Sharks let the Duck set up on 5 on 5, as if they were on a damn power play, what was up with that. Not to mention the 5 on 4 play, with the Sharks down a man the Ducks scored then they scored again on 5 on 3. Meaningless dumb penalties taken by the Sharks. Throughout the game the ref's wanted in on the action and were blocking pucks themselves. In the 3rd the Sharks stepped up and had get man on man coverage during 4 on 4, where Nabby just snapped a puck out of the air, like magic.
Fights:
McLaren vs Parros mind you Parros is a vet and well McLaren is one of our guys from the up & down game, Parros took this bout, both 5 for fighting
Nichol vs Koivu the ref's broke it up before it could really get started, each received 2 for roughing

Leading the NHL:
Nabby with his league leading 14th win
Heater with league leading 18 goals
Jumbo with crazy 25 assists to lead the league

Stars of the Game:
1. Ryan Clowe great game and 4th goal
2. Scott Nichol great scoring chances and great game
3. Thornton & Heatley another outstanding game from the pair

Flyers v Sharks

San Jose Sharks
Win 6-3

Injury Report:
Devon Setoguchi still out with a nagging lower body injury.
Brad Staubitz will be out for another couple weeks after taking a puck to the face.

Up and Down Game:
Like reported yesterday, the line fourth line was sent down to Worcesher to get more ice time, they were brought back up for the game against the Flyers. Logan Couture, Benn Ferriero and Jamie McGinn (in case your keeping score at home)

Game Notes:
Last time the Sharks lost to the Flyers was on Dec 21, 2000, they have owned the Flyers for some time now, and tonight's game would be no different. First for the Bad: Like in their most of their last games the Flyers scored first on 4 on 4. The Sharks had poor blue line push, struggled in their own end, and the back checks were weak at the best. Now for the Weird: It seemed the Flyers and Ref's were having trouble staying on their skates they fell at least a dozen times. Malhorta scored for the Sharks then scored for the Flyers, did you catch that, yes I said he scored for the Flyers. Pickle was in a fight, yes I said Pickle was in a fight, can you believe that shit. He received his first 5 fr fighting major in his NHL career. Now for the Good: Malhorta scored 3 of his 4 goals come against the Flyers. They had great communication on the fly and in their own end at times. Great penalty kill and power play, I say that cause they scored Short handed, on the Power Player and Even Strength. McLaren also was in a little brawl of his own against #13 of the Flyers of course the tough McLaren won that bout.

Special Moments:
Dany Heatley aka Heater; 9th of his career Hat Trick
Joe Thornton, his 600th career assist

Stars of the Game:

1. Heater with his Hat Trick
2. Jumbo with his 600th career assist
3. Manny 2 goals and an assist
4. Pickle fight and over all great game

Sharks v Predators

San Jose Sharks
Lose
4-3
Radio Only
Injury Report:
The usual suspects Shelley and Mitchell
Devin Setoguchi had a set back and is back out with a lower body injury.
Brad Staubitz took a puck to the face yesterday during practice and will be out for awhile.

The Up and Down Game:
After the last game against the Blackhawks, Logan Couture was sent down. But with injuries to Seto and Stabby he was brought back up with Benn Ferriero and Frazer McLaren.

Game Report:
The Sharks were tired and homesick and they played like it tonight. It has been an odd road trip from the beginning, to say the least. All together they took to many penalties and far to many odd man rushes against them.
Thomas Greiss was in the net tonight like he was when we played the Predators at home. He didn't do that bad of a job, 3 of the 4 goals he had no chance of stopping. He was more comfortable in the net.
For the first time this season the Sharks gave up not 1 but 2 power play goals in one period.
For some good news, Scott Nichol scored his 1st goal as a Shark against his old club. Ortmeyer assisted on that goal, the Predators were his former team as well.
With 52 seconds left in the 3rd Marleau scores the time clock 'breaks' that's funny. The end score is the same score it was at home against the Predators just reversed. One thing you can say about the Sharks they don't give up.

Stars of the Game
1. Scott Nichol 1st goal
2. Dany Boyle strong game
3.Patrick Marleau scoring with 52 seconds left in the game

Cowboys v Packers

Dallas Cowboys
17-7
Loss

Injury Report:
Here's the thing the Cowboys came into the game as one of the healthiest teams in the NFL, during the game we lost at one point or another #75, #56, #21, and #26

Game Report:
To many unnecessary penalties and not just by the Cowboys but the Packers too. There was a lot of missed communication by the Cowboys, at times they were running around not knowing where to go. Romo wasn't protected like he should of been, sacked a handful of times.
#75 Marc Colombo, was 1st and broke his leg
#56 Bradie James was next. First I have to give props to the Packers trainers, they came out and made sure he did not get up till our trainers reached him. He was able to walk off under his own power and did return to the game.
#21 Mike Jensen took an elbow to his biceps and did not return
#26 Ken Hamil was the last player to get hurt, and he has been suffering from a groin injury but was holding his ankle.

Now this is just one person opinion but when it comes to the challenge flag it should not take so damn long to figure out what is going on.
It seems like it is taking longer and longer for the ref's to come back and say if the play stands or not.
Although our Coach has one of the best Challenge record in the NFL.

Side Note:
Tony Romo said before the last game, that he had a bet going with his friends about his hair. He would not cut his hair till the Cowboys lost.
This Just in Romo has an appointment with his barber tomorrow...

Sharks v Blackhawks

San Jose Sharks
Lose
4-3 OT

Injury Report:
Blake, Shelley and Mitchell still all out

Up & Down:
No one was sent down and no one was brought up

Special Moment:

Jeremy Roenick was honored by the Blackhawks before the game. He played 8 seasons with them from 1989-1996. He is 7th all time player with gaols for the franchise.

Game Report:
Jason Demers had another great game, although it is not his 1st NHL point, he did score his 1st NHL goal tonight shorthanded. Devon Setoguchi, has turned into a hitting machine. His physical play continued in this game hitting anything that got in his way.
In the 2nd period the Sharks scored a goal that the NHL disallowed, to keep the score tied @ 3. With an open net Pavelski fanned on a shot to end the period. Douglas Murray is another player who is upping his physical play getting into a altercation with Eager of the Hawks, never the less Murray won that bout. Both men received 5 a piece for fighting/

OverTime:
The ended in a tie taking the game into sudden death over time. Where the Hawks kept their winning record at home alive.

Side Note:
Brad Staubitz, did not fight tonight, Yeah.

Stars of the Game
1. Jason Demers with an assist and a goal
2. Derek Joslin with his 1st NHL point
3. Scott Nichol another great game

Sharks v Blues

San Jose Sharks Win
3-1
Injury Update: Shelley still out with Soreness, Mitchell still conditioning, and Blake upper body still a week and half out from returning
Up and Down: As the sea saw continues, Vesce was sent back down and Couture was brought back up
Side Note: Blues owner called his team out this morning in local papers. Saying he was disappointed with their play, now I personally don't like that he came out and said that, but that's me
The first quarter of hockey is in the books, with the Sharks leading their division. With this win tonight the Sharks are the 1st NHL team to reach 30 points this season.
Game Report: From the start the game you could tell it was going to be a battle for both teams. After the first whistle both teams began to push and shove, but the ref's never called a penalty. Due to not stopping it from the jump, the chippy play continued thru the whole game.
I was talking with a fellow hockey buff during an intermission and he said he has never seen in 30 years officiating this bad. It is true too, now I haven't been around for 30 years, but once again in this game their was blown calls missed calls and everything else.
Brad Staubitz, by far my favorite player this year. Now I love this old school hockey with the big hits and even bigger fights. Now Brad in 2 games has gone after the biggest guy on the ice, which normally is all fine and dandy, if you win. His heart is in the right place, but damn. He needs to worry about shooting the puck and not dropping the gloves as much.

Stars of the Game:
1. Nabby with 38 saves
2. Ortmeyer game winning goal
3. Boyle with another insane game

Stars v Sharks

San Jose Sharks
Shoot Out Loss 3-2

Injuries: Shelley out with soreness, Blake upper body back in 10-14 days; and Mitchell still conditioning with Worcesher

Game Report: Now the NHL referee's I usually don't pick on, because their job is so difficult. They always try to keep the calls fair, making the same calls for both teams; not tonight. Sharks called to many men on ice, Heatley served it. Stars had at least 8 players on the ice, but never were called. Skip ahead to the 3rd period. Pavs (Pavelski) was called for high sticking, when it wasn't even his damn stick. Because a Dallas player was hurt they called it, problem it was his own team mates stick that hit him.
Back to the Game...
Scott Nichol, Douglas Murray and Brad Staubitz seemed to like to hit Dallas' #23 tonight. With at least a dozen hits on him alone poor guy... not
Staubitz fought tonight after a great hit against #23, but we never seen the end to it...

(from game against Predators)

Stars of the Game:
1. D. Heatley 15 goal of season
2. R.Clowe with un assisted goal
3. E. Nabokov 34 saves

Predators v Sharks

Sharks Win
4-3
Team News: Mitchell was sent to the Worcester Sharks for conditioning; great news. The Sharks also sent Ferriero & Couture back as well. They needed the 2 extra roaster slots for the returning Devon Setouguchi and Ryan Vesce.
Injury Report: Rob Blake is still out but expected to return in a few weeks, not so much injured but not playing the game, Jody Shelley out with general soreness.. maybe the 2 fights did him in

Game Report: So this is how the scoring went; Sharks then Predators to tie, that would be the 1st period. Onto the 2nd, Sharks score followed by the Predators to tie, end of the 2nd. The 3rd and final period Predators score followed by the Sharks to tie, and with 59.3 seconds left Mr. Boyle scores to win the game... The whole their were a total of 3 penalties, I know go figure, right

<<< Scott Nichol, man did he have a game or what. For starters this is his former team, that he left as a free agent. Tonights winner in the face off circle with 71%. Just abslotu amazing play from him. He was winded and unable to get off the ice and put everything into his play and saved 2 or 3 plays for the Sharks. Then the next shift came out and leveled a Predator.

>>> Thomas Greiss, got the nod to start the game only his 2nd start of the season. He really held is own between the pipes tonight, making great saves off the Predators. Finally in the 2nd I relaxed when he went up-down-up to make back to back to back saves. He really kept the Sharks in this game.

Stars of the Game:
1. Thomas Greiss 23 saves
2. Scott Nichol overall outstanding game
3. Dan Boyle game winning goal

Penguins v Sharks

San Jose Sharks Win
5-0

Injuries: Setoguchi, Mitchell, Blake, Vesce
Game Notes: Patrick Marleau add an "A" to his sweater; and Lil Joe is back in the line-up after missing 15 games due to injury.

Todd McLellan coached his 100th game in the NHL, during last nights win against the raining Stanley Cup Champions. McLellan, now holds the best record in the first 100 game coached.

<<< Where to start with this man, Jody Shelley. He was in 2 fights with 2 different Penguins; both resulting in fighting majors. I would say he won both fights; although the 2nd fight he was egged into with McKee. McKee receieved a game miscoundt.

>>>Then this cutie also decided to throw blows with a Penguin. Brad Staubitz, taking a note form Shelley's book also won his fight. Of course that resulted in a fighting major to him.

49th shutout, by Nabby. He was on fire again, last night. Nabby has found his groove between the pipes, playing the puck more. While the Penguins went through both their goalies, our stayed strong and a force to be reckoned with.

Stars of the Game
1. Nabby with 18 saves
2. Lil Joe, for coming back early from injury; along with a goal and an assist
3. Shelley with his kill a penguin fights

World Series Game Six

The Bronx Bombers are Back

THE NEW YORK YANKEES
ARE THE 2009 WORLD CHAMPIONS

I have dreamed of that sight since 2001, and thought maybe I wouldn't see it again, but I had faith in my team this year. They pulled it out in true Yankee fashion...
YANKEES WIN 7-3

They bring home the trophy

back to the where it rightly belongs

The Bronx

Mr. MVP
Hideki Matsui
He was a man show, there for a while. Missed the cycle by a triple, but never the less was on point and came up big through out this Series.
What a sight...

Game Five

Game Five of the World Series

Between

Yankees Loss
8-6
Yankees Still Lead Series 3-2

All the ass kissing that has been going on during the World Series, is horrible Between FOX

and the Umpires. Their was once again no strike zone for the Yankees pitchers; just horrible horrible....
Yankees lost, yes I am disappointed but I have all the faith and confidence in the New York Yankees that they will win the World Series on Wednesday and take their 27th Champions.

Melky is off the roster for the rest of the season, due to pulled hamstring. Before the game started FOX's cameras caught Melky jumping around with his team mates in the dug out. To most of us he didn't look hurt, but it must of been serious enough, because who wants out of the World Series...

The Yankees might of lost but here is my silver lining:

Their going home, to win it. Who wants to win the World Series on the road; they want to party it up at home. They want to do it the right way at home...
