Saints vs Packers
Opening Night
My Pick: New Orleans Saints
The first official game of the 2011-2012 NFL season.
A wild day in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the kids had a half day
at school to ensure they all made it home before the hoards of people invaded
there small town for the night’s game.
Bart Starr carried out the Green Bay Packers flag, before
the Super Bowl champions took the field for the first time since winning the Lombardi trophy, last season. Jordan Sparks
sang the National Anthem and did it without any flubs and thankfully no ridiculous
high notes.
Saints kicked off to Cobb, rookie #18, to the 24 yard line. Aaron
Rodgers sacked by #52 of the Saints, but that didn’t stop him from calling no huddle‘s
or semi huddles. #85 Packers TD on the opening drive, to go up by 7. The Saints
turn the ball over, fumble, on the 34 yard line after only 2 plays. #87 TD
Packers go up by 14.
This is my biggest pet-peeve about football, QB’s sliding.
Take the hit, you’re a professional, and a grown ass man.
The Saints in the 1st half looked lost, like they
almost forgot how to play the game. Not really, I am just being a bitch because
they were pissing me off. The rookie for the Packers, Cobb, was able to do his 1st
Lambeau leap. #23 for the Saints breaks through at least 4 tackles, the Packers
finally take him down but with 4 defenders. I am not sure why, but the field in
Green Bay sucked ass, everyone was slipping left and right. Rather aggravating,
when a player has a breakaway only to slip.
Field goal from 30 yards or the Saints.
Finally the 1st punt of the game, Packer s to the
Saints #43 ran back for a TD. Rodgers hits the grass, but to be fair both QB’s
are getting there asses kicked in the pocket. TD #44 scores for the Packers. Okay in his rookie debut this little
asshole (lol) one play ran 108 yards for a TD, Packers, then was tacked by his
whole offense.
Second half the Saints came alive and looked almost amazing,
ran and passed the ball like a great NFL team. Drew Brees was a machine like
always, Matthews did make his night a living hell. Then they fell apart (again). The Saints couldn't put together any really good plays. Any real playing time lasted for about 5 minutes each time, not enough for any team to compete against the defending champions.
#38 Packer player took a hit from his teammate and stayed down, injury time out. Was able to leave field under own power, but holding his right arm/hand.
Saints last ditch effort to come back, 3rd and goal #80 scores, TD. Down by only 8, they go for a on-side kick. Only to loss it to the Packers, who end up punting after the 2 minute warning. Drew threw for three 1st downs. 3 seconds to go, flag Packers, un timed down, and they couldn't do it.
Saints lose 34-42 Packers
#70 Packers off sides
#56 Saints off sides
#70 Packers false starts
#12 Saints illegal shift
#93 Saints natural zone
#73 Saints holding
#52 Packers offside
#21 Packers personal foul (He should have been thrown out of
the game)
#33 Saints pass interference
#30 Packer block in the back
#50 Packers pass interfence
Touch Backs: 8
Fun Facts:
Donald Drive, #80 Packers, 700 career catches
Randall Cobb, #18 Packers, 1st NFL players to play born in
the 1990’s
