Home Opening Series at the best ballpark in the Major League

Game One - April 13th
Its the night we've been looking forward to all post season, its the night the players get their World Championship rings; they are amazing
A beautiful ceremony that had it all from tears to jokes. Captain Jeter decided it would be a nice time to play a joke a former Yankee; with a fake ring. Mo even thought it would be a good idea to trick a current teammate with fake ring.
both received a fake ring. Matsui, couldn't compare his ring to anyone else so he had no idea, and received his during player introductions. Swisher on the other hand received his from Mo in the dug out.Andy, was the man, I was happy to see on the mound. It was only fitting he started the game on such a special day, when the banners are raised and rings handed out. Who else can you hand the ball to and say "pitch" in a pressure situation, to open the game. No one, not in my mind.
Matsui, received a huge ovation when he was introduced. Even when he walked to the plate, Andy stepped off so he could tip his hat to the crowd. He is deeply missed by the fans.
Some great plays in the game by Swisher and Rodriguez...
Record Set with 49,293 in attendance, passing the previous 49,005 on August 6th vs Boston
Yankees win 7-5
Game Two - April 14th
Javy, started his second game much like he finished his first. I realize I am not being fair but I am not happy he was re-signed. But I really did want him to have a better game, but unfortunately he did not. He was booed off the mound with 4 runs in 5 1/3 innings.
Pineiro was a Yankee Killer the whole game...
Yankees lost the game 5-3, runs by Johnson, Tex, and Swisher
Game Three - April 15th
Jackie Robinson Day #42

All the players all over the league will wear #42 in honor of the great ball player
Robinson Cano, named after the original #42, was among the select players who took part in the pre game ceremony. Cano wears a reverse 42, to honor the man he was named after. Boy did he not disappoint, he had his biggest game of season so far, 2 huge home runs, the second coming with a player on base.

Phil Hughes, wow did he have great start, or what? He looked strong and in control...
He ended up with 5 walks, 6 strike outs in 6 innings
I must say all the #42's did become rather confusing, all I heard was #42 is pitching to #42 with #42 on first base...
I love what it meant to baseball to have everyone wearing #42

As you can see Matsui wearing #42, he still was not booed as an Angel, even after he hit a Home Run, off of Hughes, he received a standing ovation It started out as a nice night but rain soon started to fall, then went the temperature.
FYI: Rivera is the last player to wear #42
Yankees win the game 6-2
Yankees Win Series 2-1
