My View On the Yankees

If you know me even a little bit you know how much I love the
and no I am not a fair weather fan, thick and thin, I am cheering on my team. Like most I was super excited to see them return to the top where they belong, last season by winning the

But this season I am a little concerned, no I am not hitting the panic button; like many. I just feel that when you get signed to a team like the New York Yankees, you've been signed to the best team in baseball, and you're going to perform excellent night in and out. Then when someone has been traded its like being demoted, you're no longer good enough to play with a team like the Yankees.
So when the teams lets players go, then years later re-signs them to the team, I am very concerned. I feel that if you let them go once why bring them back for another season. My point
Nick Johnson signed a $5.5 million dollar contract, for a DH... I realize that its four games in but really come on. In 2002 we traded him for Javy, his numbers then were not that great, plus he was hurt.
Now Javy Vazquez is a whole other story
the Yankees re-sign this "gem" for a crazy $11.5 million, now its not so much the money that bothers me because I know the team can afford it. In 2004, Javy's first run with the team he went 14-10, he pitched 198 innings, with 195 hits, 114 hits and 33 home runs, an ERA of 4.91
I realize that last night was his first "real" game back but if you look at the score and his numbers from last night alone, the nightmares of 2004 are coming back awfully fast. It's to early for me to say "I told you so" so I will wait till the half way point before I mention I was right about being upset about him coming back.
